Windy City fight fans were treated to an explosive six-fight card Friday night which was presented by Golden Boy Promotions and 8 Count Productions. If you missed the live action or the TeleFutura “Sólo Boxeo Tecate” broadcast, below is a summary of the results:
Winner | Loser | Method | Round |
Frankie Gomez | Adrian Granados | Majority Decision | 8 |
Omar Figueroa | Marcos Herrera | Knockout | 2 |
Luis Santiago | Clifford McPherson | Unanimous Decision | 4 |
Daniel Sotelo | Ronnie Fuentez | Knockout | 1 |
Juan Bustamante | Andrew Kato | Knockout | 1 |
The big names on the card were prospects Frankie Gomez and Omar Figueroa. Figueroa took care of business against his overmatched opponent, winning by second round knockout. Gomez though needed to go to the scorecards, and hung on by a close Majority Decision to remain undefeated and keep that “0” of his intact.
In next week’s edition of “Sólo Boxeo Tecate,” Golden Boy Promotions and Don Chargin Productions team up to present a special homecoming bout featuring Eloy “Prince” Perez (21-0-2, 5 KO’s) as he defends his NABO junior lightweight belt against Daniel Jimenez (20-3-1, 12 KO’s) in a 10 round bout at the Salinas Sports Complex in Salinas, Calif. The co-feature of the “History in the Making” event will see San Diego’s James Parison (14-1, 4 KO’s) facing off against Paul Mendez (6-1) of Delano, Calif. in a six round middleweight fight.
