Carl Froch’s relationship with Anthony Joshua doesn’t appear to be particularly good at the moment, and his latest YouTube upload seems unlikely to improve things.

Froch was the talk of the boxing world last week when he made a heated WhatsApp conversation between himself and Joshua public, in a video that at the time of writing has almost a quarter of a million views.

The chat showed ‘The Cobra’ confront the former unified heavyweight champion for calling him a “p****” in an interview, despite the fact the pair were stablemates once upon a time and seemingly got on.

And the Nottingham based Hall of Famer doesn’t look to be in the mood for a truce, as he has just uploaded a video blasting the IBF’s decision to crown the winner of Joshua’s fight with Daniel Dubois this autumn a world champion.

Speaking on Froch on Fighting, the 47-year-old stated:

“Daniel Dubois vs Anthony Joshua. For me, it’s a good fight. It’s two big British heavyweights coming together in an attempt to progress their career.

“But these are two guys here who have both been beat by Oleksandr Usyk – the bona fide, undisputed heavyweight world champion.

“Although it’s a great fight, I don’t see how it’s for the IBF world title. I don’t see how the person who wins gets to raise their hands holding that lovely red and gold belt.

“It should be for the interim title, or it would even be good if it was for the British title!

“You can’t hold your hand at the end of that fight and call yourself a world champion, surely? You’ve both lost to Usyk.”

Joshua and Dubois will lock horns on September 21st at Wembley Stadium – the same venue Froch famously defeated George Groves at in front of 80,000 fans in their 2014 rematch.

As the former super middleweight champion alluded to, both men have suffered relatively recent defeats to heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk, who was forced to vacate the IBF belt shortly after attaining undisputed status by defeating Tyson Fury back in May.
