The back-and-forth between Carl Froch and Frank Warren has continued to intensify, as the Nottingham man doubled down on his criticism of the atmosphere in Saudi Arabia.
Froch, never shy of letting his feelings known, found himself on the receiving end of some stick from Warren after he commented on the subdued nature of some of the recent shows in Riyadh.
The Queensberry boss claimed that ‘The Cobra’ was simply jealous that he had not been asked to go and cover the big events in the region, including last month’s undisputed heavyweight world title clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
However, Froch stood firm this week, stating he was just being objective and that other media outlets were scared to be “proper journalists” for fear of losing access.
The former super middleweight world champion addressed Warren on the latest episode of Froch on Fighting.
“Bricktop! What are you saying about ‘The Cobra’ again? You keep talking about me don’t you?
“When somebody asks you a question, you get your knickers in a twist! You get all stressed.
“The atmosphere in Saudi is not up for debate. Have a look in the comments when you’re talking to the other YouTubers – who aren’t being proper journalists because they’re too scared of losing their credentials.
“So they do what they’re told, they ask the right questions and they agree with everything you say.
“At Froch on Fighting, we disagree with people and make critical observations – and we tell the truth!
“I enjoyed the 5 vs 5, the fights were great. But there was someone falling asleep at ringside!”
Many observers noted that the atmosphere at Fury vs Usyk was markedly louder than previous fights in the Kingdom, however the Matchroom vs Queensberry 5 vs 5 did not follow suit.
The 46-year-old has invited Warren onto his YouTube channel, which recently surpassed 100,000 subscribers, for what would no doubt be a heated debate on the topic.
At the time of writing, ‘Bricktop’ – as Froch now repeatedly refers to him – has not accepted.
