Carl Froch has urged Tyson Fury to hang up his gloves, should he suffer a second successive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk handed Fury a first professional defeat when he edged out the Brit by split decision in May in Saudi Arabia to become undisputed heavyweight champion, the first man to achieve the feat in the four-belt era.
The pair will lock horns again on December 21 in a rematch also in Saudi Arabia and former super middleweight champion, Froch insists the 36-year-old’s career is on the line when he faces the Ukrainian again.
Asked on Froch On Fighting if Fury’s career is over if he endures a second defeat to Usyk, the 47-year-old replied: “Yes, I think it is.
“If Tyson Fury loses to Usyk again after having a bit of time out to get over the defeat and then go for it like he said he is on social media now.
“At 36-years-old, he struggles to do the weight.
“I said before he’s slowing down.
“All the stats are leaning towards Tyson Fury being well past his best.
“If he goes back in there now and earns another £50m or whatever ridiculous amount of money he’s getting paid out in Saudi and he gets beat, he’s not going to fight again is he?
“He doesn’t need any more money, he don’t need to get punched in the head.
“Spend some time with your family and turn it in.
“So if he loses to Usyk, I think that’ll be the last we see of Tyson Fury.”

’The Gypsy King’ will not have the opportunity to win the undisputed championship after Usyk relinquished his IBF title in June, with Daniel Dubois elevated to full champion.
Dubois will defend his belt on September 21 in an all-British showdown against Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium.
Should Fury and Joshua prevail in their respective bouts, they are expected to finally meet next year.
