Carl Froch has weighed in with his prediction for this weekend’s undisputed light heavyweight world title clash between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.

Froch will be one of the millions watching on, as Russian compatriots Beterbiev and Bivol finally settle the score and decide who is the best 175lber on the planet.

The fight has been described by many as the best in the sport, and the boxing world is seemingly split down the middle.

And, two days out from fight night, ‘The Cobra’ has revealed he is backing WBA champion Bivol to emerge with all the marbles in Riyadh.

In a recent upload to Froch on Fighting, the 47-year-old explained:

“I think Bivol is going to do the business.

“I just think Father Time waits for no one and Beterbiev is pushing 40 years of age.

“Bivol is 33-years-old. A 33 year-old Bivol I would expect to outwork and outlast a 40-year-old Beterbiev.

“It’s going to be a close fight, because Beterbiev is not going to stop trying. He’s going to keep coming forward and keep throwing big bombs.

“But if I was going to have a big wedge on a bet, I’d say Bivol to beat Beterbiev on points, but there’s always a chance he could get ironed out.

“It is boxing, and Beterbiev is a massive puncher.

Beterbiev and Bivol were set to lock horns back in June, however the fight was pushed back after the former suffered a torn meniscus which required surgery.

It is not the first injury ‘King Artur’ has suffered, and some are of the opinion it could play a key factor when he locks horns with the Kyrgyzstan native on Saturday night.

Bivol is a slight favourite with the bookmakers, however it would be foolish to write off Beterbiev, who has stopped all 20 of his opponents and is regarded as perhaps the most feared fighter in boxing.
