Terence Crawford became the latest fighter to be told by Carl Froch of his record-breaking night at Wembley Stadium against George Groves.
Crawford and Froch linked-up at the IBA Champions Night in Dubai last week.
‘The Cobra’ invited the four-weight world champion onto his Froch On Fighting YouTube channel and needed little invitation to mention his knockout of Groves, which took place in front of a then-record 80,000 fans at Wembley back in 2014.
Crawford was one of the 94,000 in attendance to witness Daniel Dubois’ stunning stoppage win over Anthony Joshua at the national stadium in September, although Froch jokingly downplayed the figure.
Froch said: “Last time you were in England, you were at Wembley Stadium.
“79,000 in attendance. Did you enjoy the atmosphere?”
Commenting on the experience, Crawford said: “I loved it.
“That was my first time there in that stadium for any type of event and to go there and see all of that with Anthony Joshua and Dubois, it was wonderful.
“It was a nice night of boxing.”
“I boxed in front of 80,000 at Wembley Stadium, you knew that anyway, so I’ve got the record,” Froch said.
Crawford replied: “Against Groves right?”
Froch added: “George Groves. I rendered him unconscious. El sparko.
“You saw the fight right?”
A clearly confused Crawford replied: “Duh, I just said who you fought!”
Froch’s constant reminder of setting the then-record attendance for a boxing fight a the national stadium has become somewhat of an iconic moment, ever since he mentioned the achievement to Floyd Mayweather Jr prior to his fight against Manny Pacquiao in 2015.
The 47-year-old then asked Oleksandr Usyk during an interview with Pro Boxing Fans whether he was aware of his bout against Groves.
The 80,000 record attendance set by Froch and Groves, was shattered two years later when 90,000 turned out to watch Anthony Joshua’s epic showdown with Wladimir Klitschko and ‘AJ’ set a new record of 94,000 as mentioned earlier when he lost to Dubois.
