The card for Saturday, July 9 at the Cache Creek Casino Resort located in the Capay Valley will feature promising local stars as they take on experienced opponents from all across the globe.
Headlining the event, Fairfield, Calif. native Manuel “Tino” Avila (20-0, 8 KOs) will have another chance to obtain his second title in less than a year against the tough Prosper Ankrah (24-7, 15 KOs) of Accra, Ghana in a 10-round battle for the vacant IBA Americas Featherweight Championship.
The co-main event will feature former world title challenger Manuel “Suavecitio” Roman (19-4-3, 7 KOs) of Paramount, Calif. in an eight-round super bantamweight fight against Javier Gallo (21-12-1, 12 KOs) of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
Alberto Torres (6-0-2, 3 KOs) of Sacramento, Calif. and Redwood City’s Jesus Sandoval (5-9-3, 1 KO), will look to settle the score of their 2013 majority draw decision in a six-round featherweight rematch. Tough light heavyweights Ryan Bourland (9-1, 4 KOs) of Vacaville, Calif. and Gilberto Rubio (6-2, 4 KOs) of Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico will battle it out in the ring in a scheduled six-round matchup.
Also, featured on the undercard super featherweights Pedro Moreno (2-0, 2 KOs) of Sacramento, Calif. will take on Derick Bartlemay (0-3-1) of Eugene, Ore. in a four-round fight and opening up the night, Blake Mckernan of Sacramento, Calif. will make his professional debut in a four-round cruiserweight battle against an opponent to be named shortly.
Manuel Avila vs. Prosper Ankrah is a 10-round bout for the vacant IBA Americas Featherweight Championship headlining a night of world-class professional championship boxing presented by Don Chargin Productions and Paco Presents Boxing in association with Golden Boy Promotions and Cache Creek Casino Resort. Doors open at 5:00 pm, the first bell rings at 6:00 pm.
