Tyson Fury says he has retired from boxing aged 36.
Fury suffered a second straight defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in December, failing in his bid to become a three-time heavyweight world champion.
The Morecambe man was coy on his future in the aftermath of the bout, but now claims that his career is over.
“Hi everybody, I’m going to make this short and sweet,” Fury said on Instagram.
“I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing.
“It’s been a blast.
“I’ve loved every single minute of it.
“I’m going to end with this, Dick Turpin wore a mask.
“God bless everybody, see you on the other side.”
‘The Gypsy King’ announced his retirement from the sport after defeating Dillian Whyte in April 2022, only to return eight months later for a third fight against Derek Chisora, which he won by unanimous decision.
Fury has been called out by long-time rival, Anthony Joshua in recent days for a long-awaited showdown this year, with ‘AJ’ saying as recently as Saturday that the clash must happen this year.

“It’s a fight that I want to see, because I’m a fan of boxing,” the 35-year-old said at the Ring Awards.
“When I’m in the local gym everyone’s asking me.
“I ain’t got many years ahead of me.
“What I want to do is leave the game with a bang and make an impact.
“Be outlandish, [a] great character, have fun with it while we’re doing it and go for the big fights.
“Tyson Fury is one of them.
“As a fighter it’s up to me to deliver and that’s why I’m saying it has to happen this year.”
Fury leaves the sport as a two-time heavyweight world champion, with 34 wins, two defeats and one draw, with standout victories over Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder.
