Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, 34-0 (31KO’s) met the media in the Los Angeles portion of the press tour to formally announce his next fight set for Saturday, April 23 at the Forum. Golovkin’s opponent, Dominic Wade, 18-0, (12KO’s) was unable to attend the press conference due to flight delays in his hometown of Washington, D.C.
Right here, we have some photos from the presser, and some details on the HBO card.
Joining Golovkin at the Los Angeles Press Conference were Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, 44-0 (38KO’s) and his challenger, McWilliams Arroyo, 16-2 (14KO’s) who will battle in the co-feature on April 23.
The Golovkin and Gonzalez bouts will be televised Live on HBO World Championship Boxing beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET. This is the 3rd time in a recent stretch that GGG and Chocolatito have been paired on a card together. Clearly, it’s a matched made in fistic heaven.
Golovkin and Wade will next meet the media on Thursday in New York City for another presser. Tickets for the April 23rd event priced at $30-$400 are now on-sale through Ticketmaster.
