Gervonta Davis says he will look to face Ryan Garcia next and believes it would not take him long to inflict a punishing performance on his rival.
Garcia, who became mandatory challenger to WBC Lightweight champion, Devin Haney immediately called for a clash with WBA ‘Regular’ title holder, Davis after climbing off the canvas to stop Luke Campbell in seven rounds in Dallas on Saturday.
In an interview with TMZ Sports earlier this week, the 22-year-old vowed to halt his fellow unbeaten compatriot, Davis in two rounds and the pair shared a FaceTime call, whilst Garcia was on the soon to be released Hotboxin’ Podcast with former undisputed Heavyweight world champion, Mike Tyson on Wednesday.
“I’m definitely looking forward to fighting Ryan in my next fight,” Davis told ES News.
“I think he’s a fan of mine how he was acting, he was acting all hype and all things like that and Mike was trying to see when we was gonna fight.
“It’s good for boxing.”
Asked how he expects a potential clash to play out, ‘Tank’ who has 23 knockouts from his 24 wins, replied: “Me catching [Garcia] with the right shot, him holding up and things like that.
“It’s gonna be tricky, the beginning of the fight, but once I get past it, it’s not going to take long for me to get in there and hurt him.”
Garcia recovered quickly after being dropped for the first time in his career from a huge left hook from Campbell and ‘Tank’, who scored a showreel knockout of Leo Santa Cruz last October, credits his rival for his fightback, but insists he would not be able to withstand a similar shot from him.

“He did decent, he actually did good, because that’s his first time getting dropped like that at that high pace and him just getting back up and acting like nothing different happen was amazing, so it was great.
“He finished the job so I think he did well.

“I jumped up, I was shocked when I seen him get dropped, but I tweeted right before, because he run into every shot, so I tweeted right before he’s going to run into something.
“He was running into shots all night. He can’t run into no shot like that with me for sure.”
Tank, who is promoted by former pound-for-pound star, Floyd Mayweather Jr admits he would also be open to facing Vasiliy Lomachenko and believes he would be able to stop the Ukrainian.
“If the fight makes sense then make it happen, I’m willing to fight all these guys, it’s just got to make sense,” the 26-year-old added.
“I see myself breaking him down [in] the later [part of] the fight and getting him out of there.”
