Tune in below to watch the media workout of Gervonta Davis, as he prepares for his 130lbs showdown with Leo Santa Cruz on October 31 in San Antonio, Texas.
Two-weight world champion ‘Tank’ Davis (23-0, 22 KOs) claimed the WBA ‘Regular’ Lightweight belt with a twelfth round stoppage of Yuriorkis Gamboa in December, after holding the IBF and WBA ‘Super’ Super Featherweight crowns.
Davis’ belt, as well as Leo Santa Cruz’s WBA ‘Super’ Super Featherweight title will be on the line at the Alamodome in a rare two-weight title clash on SHOWTIME PPV in the USA.
Significantly, there will be fans in attendance for the first time in the USA since the COVID-19 pandemic shut the sporting world down, with a crowd of around 11,500 expected of the 70,000 capacity.
Four-weight world champion, Santa Cruz (37-1-1, 19 KOs) captured the WBA ‘Super’ Super Featherweight crown with victory over Miguel Flores last November, after moving up from Featherweight where he was WBA champion twice.
Davis (23-0, 22 KOs) moved up to 135 pounds and will attempt to win back his former belt at the weight below, before looking to a potential showdown with undisputed Lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez, following his victory over Vasiliy Lomachenko on Saturday.
