Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) will face Montreal power-puncher David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs), in a Middleweight title unification bout on Saturday, October 17 at the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden. The championship event will be shown on HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET.
Tickets are available for sale to the general public on Wednesday, August 12th at 12pm eastern. There’s also a Golden Boy pre-sale offer taking place. Use promo code “GOLDENBOY” and find your tickets online here. Tickets range from $50 to $500 in price.
Golovkin vs. Lemieux promises all-out action from the moment the first bell rings. It’s by far the best fight available for Golovkin right now. Lemieux is on a hot streak, and the likes of Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez are busy with each other. Putting the fight on PPV seem a bit strange, but HBO is trying to build up a new star. Considering you’ll have to buy it at home to watch, that makes attending the fight an even better idea, and it should be a fun environment at Madison Square Garden.
