Guerrero in Newark for Fight This Saturday

Team Guerrero

Former three-time world champion, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero touched down in Newark, New Jersey last night as he gets ready to face Vicente Escobedo this Saturday, November 6th at the Prudential Center. Guerrero is set for the big fight, and is ready to make a march to yet another title, this time in the lightweight division.

The Guerrero vs. Escobedo fight will be on the televised undercard of the HBO card headlined by Zab Judah vs. Lucas Matthysse. Guerrero and Escobedo fought in the amateurs three times, with Guerrero winning the series 2-1, and this will be their first meeting as professionals.

Prior to the bout, viewers on HBO will be treated to an in-depth video look at Guerrero’s training camp, and also documenting the trials he has been through with his wife, who has now recovered from leukemia, but whose status was at first very much uncertain, forcing Guerrero to drop his 130 lb title bout and move away from the sport temporarily.

Tune back in to ProBoxing-Fans.com later in the week for a full recap of Guerrero vs. Escobedo and all of this weekend’s fights and breaking boxing news.
