Devin Haney appeared to mock rival Ryan Garcia, as the war of words begun ahead of their April showdown.
Haney will make a first defence of his WBC super lightweight world title against Garcia at Barclays Center, Brooklyn on April 20, live on DAZN pay-per-view.
The pair will fight for the first time as professionals, after six previous amateur bouts with the scores level at three apiece.
Garcia was criticised for his use of the shoulder roll during his victory over Oscar Duarte in December and ‘The Dream’ has urged his rival to implore the same tactics when they meet.
“I see he learned the shoulder roll,” Haney told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour.
“He learnt a new move.
“I would hope [his trainer] Derrick James didn’t teach him that shoulder roll.
“It wasn’t his best move.
“I would love him to bring that shoulder roll on April 20.
“That’s all I’ve got to say.
“[It’s] effective if done correctly, it can be very effective, but we’ve seen a lot of people do it ineffectively and it cost them.
“So, it’s a dangerous move.”
Haney and Garcia brawled at a media event in Las Vegas earlier this month, with ‘King Ry’ shoving his compatriot after a heated argument about the fight.
The Americans came face-to-face on Tuesday at the start of a two-city press tour starting in New York and will meet again at a second news conference in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Garcia suffered a first professional defeat last April, knocked out in the sixth round with a brutal body shot from Gervonta Davis and Haney believes he can force an even earlier stoppage.
“He went in there and jumped on Tank,” the 25-year-old added.
“That’s what Ryan does.
“He tries to go in there and tries to overwhelm you.
“He tries to just jump on you and overwhelm you.
“I think that’s what he’s going to try to do to me, but I think he’s going to run into something early like he did with Tank.
“Possibly [a stoppage]. If he gets out of control, I think he’ll run into something like I said.”
