Harlem Eubank says he is aiming to win the British super lightweight title, providing he overcomes Sean Dodd.
Eubank (13-0, 5 KOs) looks to extend his unbeaten professional record when he meets Dodd (17-6-1, 3 KOs) at the Indigo at The O2 on May 13, on the undercard of the vacant British middleweight title clash between Linus Udofia and Denzel Bentley, live on Channel 5.
The 28-year-old, former Brighton and Hove Albion footballer, is currently rated at #10 in the UK by Boxrec.com and says he would relish a shot at the Lonsdale belt, which is currently vacant, insisting he’d be open to facing mandatory contender, Dalton Smith.
“There’s a big crop of talent in the UK,” Eubank told proboxing-fans.com at Tuesday’s press conference.
“And I believe I’m towards the top of the pile.
“I think the British title has definitely got my name on it in the near future.
“I’ve heard the name [Dalton Smith] mentioned, I’ve seen a few of his fights and that’s definitely a possible fight.
“So, if he has the British [title] then it’s definitely on the table.”
The Brighton native forced Viorel Simion to retire after five rounds on the undercard of his cousin, Chris Eubank Jr’s victory over Liam Williams in Cardiff in February.
Eubank, who is hopeful of having up to six fights this year has vowed to put on an explosive display against former Commonwealth lightweight champion and British title challenger, Dodd, who was beaten in the BOXXER tournament by eventual winner, Cori Gibbs in Liverpool in November.
“He [Simion] was the most experienced opponent that I’ve fought thus far,” Eubank added.

“He’d been in with some big names. Again it was a chance to see what I’ve got against that experience and wear him down and break him down throughout the fight.
“This one now will be another chance to build on that outing against another experienced opponent.

“[He’s] been in big domestic fights. [He’s] been in them British title fights, the Commonwealth [title] fights and I’m going to soak up that experience in there and put on an explosive performance.”
