Harold Lederman is back with two new installments of his Hey Harold series from HBO Boxing. In these two clips, he discusses the upcoming Gennady Golovkin vs. David Lemieux pay-per-view headline fight from Madison Square Garden, as well as this weekend’s fight between Lucas Matthysse and Viktor Postol.
Of course it’s no secret that Lederman is a huge Golovkin fan. He says that MSG is going to be rocking for this fight. He also credits Golovkin’s chin as being stellar too, beyond his own crushing power. For Lemieux, he says he’ll make an interesting opponent with his power. He actually says that Lemieux hits a bit harder than Golovkin does, but doesn’t have the same skill set. So it should be an exciting fight all the way around.
As for Matthysse vs. Postol, he says that Postol is a beautiful boxer, but doesn’t have much power. His advantage though is that lanky frame of his size, standing 5’11” which is a big advantage over Matthysse. Of course, “The Machine” brings the heat and the power. He’s coming off that excellent fight against Ruslan Provodnikov, and one overlooked aspect of Matthysse’s game is his excellent body punching, according to Lederman.
