Simon Jordan and Eddie Hearn have once again gone back-and-forth over the situation around Conor Benn and his performance enhancing drugs case.

Jordan and Hearn have exchanged verbal blows over Benn’s situation on several occasions, with the radio host putting the Matchroom boss to task over his version of events.

After a saga that has rumbled on for over two years, ‘The Destroyer’ is now free to resume his professional boxing career after a the National Anti-Doping Panel lifted his suspension last month.

However, Jordan still has bone or two to pick with Hearn over him professing his charge has been “fully cleared” as a result.

Speaking on talkSPORT today, the former Crystal Palace owner pulled no punches:

“He didn’t get fully cleared. No one has explained how he failed two drugs tests.

“If Conor Benn were to tell everybody exactly the outcome of this circumstance and explained to everybody how he hasn’t been sanctioned, what would be the breach of confidentiality he’d be consequence for and by who?

“There’s no consequence, and the reason Conor won’t tell you is because it’s down to the testing regime.

“He’s able to fight, but the idea that he’s been cleared beyond any reproach is for the birds.”

As could be expected, Hearn issued a stiff rebuttal.

“I disagree – we’re never going to agree on it.

“The reality is, he has not been found guilty. What I’m denying is the consistency, quality and substance of those two tests.

“How do you think he was cleared? Why was he not found guilty?

“You answered your own question, he’s been exonerated and cleared.”

Benn is expected to return to action in early 2025, though whether that is in a blockbuster grudge match against Chris Eubank Jr remains to be seen.

Talks between the two camps appear to be at a stalemate, with ‘Next Gen’ holding out for a 55/45 purse split.
