Eddie Hearn and his former charge Devin Haney were seen having a less than cordial back-and-forth at the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois fight this weekend.
Prior meeting ringside, Hearn and Haney had become embroiled in a Twitter, with the former undisputed world champion accusing his one-time promoter of being fake after he was unable to provide him with tickets to the show in London.
‘The Dream’ clearly found his way into Wembley Stadium one way or another, and footage of him and the Matchroom boss arguing quickly made it’s way onto social media.
Speculation was rife over what exactly was said between the pair – and now all those wondering have their answer.
In an interview with Boxing News, Hearn admitted he was incensed by Haney’s actions on Twitter and described him as “arrogant.”
Eddie Hearn on his confrontation with Devin Haney at Joshua-Dubois: “I pulled him at the show and said ‘what do you think you’re doing? 1. You couldn’t be more arrogant, 2. Why are you not just messaging me? You put a tweet out? You’re like a little kid… Anyway, you’ll be able… pic.twitter.com/9lSQtukn3E

“I pulled him at the show and said ‘what do you think you’re doing?’ He said ‘hey hey’, and I said ‘no, not hey hey… what are you doing?’
“I said: ‘one, you couldn’t be more arrogant, two, why aren’t you messaging me asking if I’m sure I can’t sort something out?
Instead you put a Tweet out? You’re like a little kid, you used to be a good kid you did, now I don’t like this arrogance I’m seeing from you. Don’t ever do that again’.
“He said that I’d said something about him in the media but I was just answering a question.
“I don’t represent him, so if I get asked about Devin Haney I’m going to tell you what I think.
I’ve never said anything disrespectful but I said ‘you have, so don’t ever disrespect me again’. I had the hump about it. I just told him straight.”
Haney was promoted by Hearn from 2019 to 2021, though based off the latter’s comments above, it is unlikely they will be reuniting any time soon.
The two weight world champion has not boxed since he was dismantled by Ryan Garcia back in April, though the bout was ruled a no contest after Garcia tested positive for a banned substance.
