Eddie Hearn is plotting Anthony Joshua’s next move and admits a rematch with Daniel Dubois could happen next.

Hearn, Joshua’s career-long promoter, has been in talks with Frank Warren’s Queensberry, who promote Dubois over staging a rematch this summer.

The Matchroom Chairman also says minor discussions have been had over a long-awaited showdown with Deontay Wilder, who is coming off back-to-back losses.

Hearn however believes ‘AJ’ will either face Dubois, who stopped him in five rounds in September or Joseph Parker, who halted Martin Bakole in two rounds last month to retain his WBO interim heavyweight crown and whom Joshua beat on points in 2018.

“We’re talking to Queensberry about the potential of Dubois-AJ this summer, the rematch,” Hearn told IFLTV.

“Because they’re planning Dubois’ next move as well.

“[We’ve had] some brief conversations with His Excellency [Turki Alalshikh] about AJ against Wilder.

“The Parker fight could have potential.

“If you said to me, ‘why would you roll the dice against Parker for the interim world title when you can roll the dice against Dubois for the full world title?’

“I don’t think there’s any difference in those fights in terms of the toughness of them.

“I’d go for Dubois every time of the week.”

Parker was due to face Dubois for the IBF heavyweight world title in Riyadh, but the Brit pulled out on fight week due to illness.

Rumours are circulating that the 27-year-old will go straight into a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk later this year, in what would be for the undisputed heavyweight crown.

Hearn’s number one choice for ‘AJ’, who has not fought since defeat to Dubois, would be an all-British clash with Tyson Fury, but with ’The Gypsy King’ staying true to his retirement plan, the 45-year-old is hopeful of landing a second outing with ‘Triple D’ for his charge.

“If we can’t get Fury, my advice is to fight Dubois for the world title,” he added.

“I think we should do it and I think we’ll beat him and I think he’d become a three-time world champion.”

“I know he can beat Dubois.”
