Eddie Hearn has admitted he does not want to see Derek Chisora fight heavyweight world champion, Daniel Dubois.
The IBF announced last week that Chisora, who was promoted by Hearn for a large chunk of his storied career, is now mandatory for Dubois’ title.
Though written off on several occasions and seemingly staring down the barrel of retirement not so long ago, ‘Del Boy’ rejuvenated his career with two underdog wins in his last two fights against Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin.
As such, the London favourite has soared through the rankings and remarkably could be on the brink of another world title shot at 41-years-old.
When Hearn was asked by IFL TV about a potential clash between Chisora and Dubois, however, he did not seem to be too high on his old charge’s chances.

“He’s fought for the world title before hasn’t he twice. It’s not a good fight for him, Daniel Dubois.
“It’s not a fight I want to see, but it’s his career, if he’s earned it and been called for it, it’s not his fault.
“It’s just the style. There’s certain styles in ‘Del Boy’s career that are good for him, some are bad for him, and Dubois is one that is bad one for him. But ‘Del Boy’ is a legend.”

Despite the IBF’s recent ruling on Chisora’s standing, it still seems unlikely a showdown between he and Dubois will be next.
There are reportedly talks underway for a rematch between ‘DDD’ and unified world champion Oleksandr Usyk, which would see all four heavyweight titles up for grabs.
Dubois was stopped in nine rounds by the masterful Ukrainian when they locked horns back in 2023, however a contentious fourth round low blow was the main talking point from the fight and some felt the young Brit was hard done by.
There have also been calls for ‘Dynamite’ to revisit a fight with Joseph Parker, after he withdrew just days out from their date last month due to a fight week illness.
