Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will be making a special appearance on Friday, April 13. He’ll be in New York City at the NASDAQ stock market, where he will be the honorary guest to ring the opening bell and begin the day’s trading activities.
The ceremony will take place from 9:15 to 9:30 am on Friday morning. The NASDAQ MarketSite is located at 4 Times Square, at the corner of 43rd Street and Broadway.
Klitschko’s next in the ring opponent will be Tony Thompson, in an upcoming title clash in July. Klitschko previously defeated Thompson, who has since worked his way back into contention. It was recently announced that Klitschko vs. Thompson II will be broadcast in the United States on the EPIX network.
The intriguing connection there is that EPIX broadcasts its major fights on the huge jumbotron screen in Times Square. So, on Friday, Klitschko will be making a live appearance in the same locale to open up the NASDAQ stock market, and then in a few months he’ll be shown to the world from up above as he competes to defend his championship belts once again.
