Peoples joined the world sanctioning organization in 1995 quickly learning all aspects of the business. In 1999 he was appointed the position of Ratings Chairman, and since May of 2010, Peoples has been at the helm of the organization continuing its expansion throughout the world.
Under his leadership the IBF has begun to realize their goal of expanding the organizations presence and relationships with new member nations and providing opportunities to as many people in the global boxing community as possible. During the past two years the IBF has fostered relationships with several countries in the Caribbean, Asia, Africa, and the European continent. This is an honor well deserved for Mr. Peoples.
Peoples joins a notable group of inductees including Micky Ward and Donald Trump, former USBA champions John Brown and Curtis Parker, long time boxing judge and IBF/USBA member George Hill, trainer Bill Johnson, Mark Taffet of HBO, former NJ and Regional Amateur Champion Valentin Contreras, promoter Andre Kut of KEA Boxing and producer Dave Weingberg. Bouie Fisher, Kevin Smith and Harry Wiley will be inducted posthumously.
The New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame’s 46th Annual Dinner and Induction Ceremonies will take place at the beautiful Venetian, located at 546 River Drive, Garfield, New Jersey starting at 7:00p.m. Tickets are priced at 85.00 per person.
