Janibek Alimkhanuly ruthlessly added the IBF middleweight title to his WBO crown, as he stopped the overmatched Vincenzo Gualtieri in six rounds in Rosenberg, Texas.

After being upgraded to full WBO champion, the Kazakh had outscored the spirited Denzel Bentley in his first defence, before hammering Steven Butler to a two round defeat in his last contest. Gualtieri had never fought outside of his native Germany, and he won the vacant IBF belt in July, dropping Esquiva Falcao twice on the way to a points victory.

Gualtieri (21-1-1, KO7) was never likely to unify here, but did land the first meaningful punch of the contest, a right hand in the first round, but Janibek (15-0, KO10) landed a jab in the second that seemed to then limit the German’s ambitions. Janibek was happy to up the gears whenever he pleased, and a double jab in the fifth dipped Gualtieri’s knees, with the conclusion looking a matter of time. That came a round later, as an uppercut hurt Gualtieri, and Janibek sensed the end was nigh, and a volley of power punches forced the referee to step in.

Keyshawn Davis (10-0, KO6) remained unbeaten, but only by the skin of his teeth as he defended his WBC USA and WBO Intercontinental lightweight belts with a majority nod against Nahir Albright (16-3, KO7). Davis took the win by scores of 97-93 and 96-94, while a third judge ruled the contest 95-95.

Duke Ragan (9-0, KO1) also had to survive a scare, as he was decked in the fifth round of his featherweight meeting with Jose Perez (11-2-2, KO5). Ragan came through by spilt decision, taking scores of 76-75 twice, against the same score for Perez.

Guido Vianello (11-1-1, KO9) returned to winning ways, with the heavyweight taking an eight round points win against Curtis Harper (14-10, KO9). Humberto Galindo (14-3-2, KO11) and Oscar Bravo (25-13-1, KO11) fought to an eight round draw at lightweight, and Kelvin Davis won on the cards against Narciso Carmona (11-2-1, KO6) at super lightweight.

In six rounders, Alan Garcia (10-0, KO8) won all six rounds at lightweight against Nelson Hampton (10-8, KO6), and heavyweight hope Richard Torrez Jr (7-0, KO7) halted Tyrrell Anthony Herndon (21-5, KO14) in the second round. Giovanni Marquez (7-0, KO5) won in the same round against Donte Strayhorn (12-5-1, KO4) in their super lightweight affair. Jakhongir Zokirov (1-0, KO1) debuted, and stopped Guillermo Del Rio (4-5-1, KO2) in the fourth and final round of their heavyweight bout.
