Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17 KOs) has signed a multi-fight deal with InterBox, and his first fight under that promotional banner will come against Donovan George (26-4-2, 22 KOs) on December 6th at the Montreal Bell Centre.
Pascal vs. George will be added to the card featuring Lucian Bute’s return against Roberto Bolonti. The former foes in Pascal and Bute will both be looking to inject some life and momentum into their careers, and local fans will be treated to two of the biggest-name Canadian fighters in recent history.
“Two big fights such as Bute vs. Bolonti and Pascal vs. George on the same card is a very rare occurrence in Quebec,” stated InterBox president Mr. Jean Bedard.
Interbox and Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) actually will maintain a co-promotional agreement with Pascal and his events. “We are working together with GYM for the benefit of the boxing industry and this decision with Pascal is just another positive example,” said Bedard.
Pascal vs. George should be a fan-friendly bout. The return of Pascal actually marks the first time since 2010 that the fighter will have two fights in the same calendar year, and both he and Interbox believe it will be a starting point to bigger things in the near future.
“I am very happy to be fighting George. He took Adonis Stevenson to the 12th round and I plan to do better so that fight fans can use this as a measuring stick for an eventual fight between Stevenson and I,” said Jean Pascal, mandatory challenger for Stevenson’s title.
Don “Da Bomb” George is no stranger to Quebec, winning over fans with that performance against Stevenson before eventually succumbing in the 12th.
“I am coming to win and to shock Quebec. I jumped on the fight versus Pascal the very minute it was proposed to me,” said George.
