Mark Cipparone’s Club 1957 Management is proud to announce the signing of heavyweight Joey Dawejko to an exclusive managerial contract. The 24-year old Dawejko has a record of 10-3-2 with three knockouts and is currently riding a two fight winning streak.
The native of Philadelphia won the World Jr. Amateur championships in 2008. He had am amateur record of 56-12 and besides winning the world championships, he also captured the National under-19, a 3-time national PAL champ as well as a Jr. Golden Gloves champion.
In his amateur career he had wins over Lenroy Thompson as well as current undefeated professional Heavyweights Bryant Jennings and Jordan Shimmell.
He turned professional in 2009 with a 6-round unanimous decision over Royphy Solieau. He won his first six bouts (and was 7-0-1 in his first eight) which included knockout wins over undefeated fighters Ricardo Johnson and John Lennox.
Dawejko is not afraid to take on top competition as nearly half of his fights have been against undefeated fighters.
In his last two bouts, Dawejko has been coming into his own with his two biggest wins when he scored a unanimous decision over former top-ten heavyweight contender Derric Rossy as well as his last bout when he scored an impressive unanimous decision over undefeated Philadelphian Mark Rideout on May 16.
“I think it’s a great deal for both of us. Mark is a great guy and I am looking forward to working with him. He is behind his fighters 100% and he has surrounded himself with an excellent team and I believe with all of this in place, the sky is the limit for my potential,” said Dawejko
Everyone knows that Joey can Fight! My team and I are on another mission as Joey has made the ULTIMATE decision to put boxing before ALL and yes he has! Just watch us climb to the top! Keep your eye on this guy. He is coming,” said Club 1957 Management’s Mark Cipparone.
“With his new management team in place Joey has committed 100 percent to boxing. A far cry away from the balancing act this tough boxer endured for the last several years working a hard 8 to 10 hrs a day as a roofer in extreme weather conditions. It certainly takes a toll on your body. And to win fights too is incredible to say the least. Now Joey is able to do 3 workouts a day and actually get in fight shape…now that is scary!” finished Cipparone.
Dawejko, is promoted by Peltz Boxing, will be back in action on August 2 when he takes on David Williams at Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.
