Hard hitting 140-pound contender John Molina Jr. (27-6, 22 KOs) will square-off against Mexico’s Jorge Romero (24-10, 21 KOs) in a 10-round super lightweight showdown as part of undercard action on Saturday, November 28 from Dallas, Texas.
Also featured in undercard action are a trio of rising, undefeated prospects as Eddie Ramirez (11-0, 8 KOs) battles Bilal Mahasin (7-1-1, 1 KOs) in an eight round super lightweight bout, Ryan Karl (10-0, 7 KOs) takes on Ken Alvarez (7-2-2, 3 KOs) in a six round super lightweight fight and Steve Lovett (14-0, 12 KOs) enters the ring in eight rounds of light heavyweight action.
The PBC on NBC event is headlined by super welterweight world champion Jermall Charlo (22-0, 17 KOs) taking on “Silky” Wilky Campfort (21-1, 12 KOs). Televised action begins at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT with Dallas-native and 2012 Olympian Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. (18-0, 15 KOs) squaring off against Mexico’s Alejandro “El Elegido” Barrera (28-2, 18 KOs) in a 12-round contest, plus the ring return of rising star Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin (12-0, 9 KOs), who faces Alexis Camacho (21-5, 19 KOs) in a 10-round super welterweight bout.
The stacked afternoon of fights continues with 25-year-old Fort Worth-native Francisco Cruz (4-0) as he takes on Waco’s Marquis Hawthorne (1-1) in a four-round super lightweight contest and a pair of Dallas products make their pro debuts as Amon Rashidi battles Adrien Sargent in a four-round super welterweight fight.
Rounding out the action is Bedford, Texas’ John Bullock (3-2-1, 1 KO) taking on Dallas’ Carlos Dixon (1-4-1, 1 KO) in a four-round super welterweight battle, L’Darius Whetstone (1-0) of McKinney, Texas against Cesar Moreno (0-1) of Pallo, Texas in a four-round super lightweight showdown and two Dallas natives in a four-round super featherweight fight as Abraham Torres Jr. (1-1) faces Colton Wright.
An exciting brawler out of Covina, California, Molina returns to the ring looking to end 2015 with a victory. The 32-year-old owns a thrilling comeback victory by stoppage over former world champion Mickey Bey and engaged in one of the better fights in recent memory in 2014 against Lucas Matthysse. He also owns victories over Hank Lundy, Alejandro Rodriguez and Dannie Williams throughout his career. He will be opposed by the 25-year-old Romero out of Sinaloa, Mexico who owns victories over Juan Pablo Sanchez and Rodolfo Lopez.
An accomplished amateur who won the Chicago Golden Gloves and was the runner up in the National Gloves in 2013, Ramirez looks to continue his rise as he fights once again in 2015. The 23-year-old has scored three knockout victories in 2015, including a victory over former world champion Cristobal Cruz in September and most recently a second round knockout over Hevinson Herrera. He will take on the 33-year-old San Franciso-native Mahasin, who is undefeated in his last four fights.
An undefeated prospect representing Houston, Karl had an excellent amateur career that ended with him ranked third in the nation in the 141-pound division. The 23-year-old has already won fives times in 2015 and most recently defeated Alfonso Olvera in October. He is opposed by the 25-year-old Alvarez out of Villa Altagracia, Dominican Republic.
An Australian fighting out of the U.S. since 2014, Lovett looks to build on the momentum he has gained in 2015 with four knockout victories so far. The 30-year-old’s last triumph came in October when he stopped Kevin Engel in the second round.
