Roy Jones Jr has provided his breakdown for the fast approaching rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

Fury and Usyk will run it back on December 21 in at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia, the same venue that hosted their epic undisputed battle back in May.

The Ukrainian emerged victorious that night, dropping ‘The Gypsy King’ heavily on route to an historic split decision win.

And Hall of Fame, former four-weight world champion Jones has given his two cents – and believes Fury made a critical error that night.

Appearing on talkSPORT, the 55-year-old explained that Fury should have made his vast physical advantages count against the smaller man and put him on the back foot.

“Well it is a very tough predicament for both of them. But what I do understand is that Fury is one of the best guys at making adjustments.

“Eight years ago I told him he can beat any of the heavyweights out there, he can beat all of them.

“But he made a big mistake, he did what he did against Wilder against Usyk.

“He knew Wilder couldn’t fight if he backed him up so he backed him up and beat him.

“Why would you go there and back off from Usyk? Usyk is a small guy, you back off from him and it gives him confidence.

“Look what happened. Usyk now knows that he can put Fury down, and it could work for him or against him.

“If he goes out there as the normal methodical Usyk, he could beat him again.”

At 36-years-old and after suffering the first defeat of his professional career, many observers see Fury as a wide underdog going into the blockbuster in Riyadh.

And though the pair were cordial together whilst at the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois fight and even took a selfie, temperatures appear to be rising as they got embroiled in a social media back-and-forth today.
