Simon Jordan has picked Daniel Dubois to stop Joseph Parker when the pair lock horns next month.

Dubois defends his IBF heavyweight world title against former world champion, Parker on February 22 in Riyadh.

Parker heads into the clash in fine form, with five victories on the bounce, including notable wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang, but outspoken pundit, Jordan believes the Brit will prove a bridge too far and expects him to emerge with a stoppage victory.

“He’s a very good fighter,” Jordan said on talkSPORT.

“I just think Daniel Dubois will be a step too far for him.

“I don’t think it’s a formality, but I do think Daniel will win and I do think that he’ll stop him.”

Dubois stormed the ring after Oleksandr Usyk’s win over Tyson Fury in their rematch in December, demanding a second outing with the Ukrainian, who holds the WBC, WBA and WBO crowns, a win which sent Fury into retirement.

Usyk, who knocked out the 27-year-old in the ninth round in August 2023, relinquished the IBF belt now held by Dubois after overcoming Fury in May to secure the undisputed heavyweight championship.

’Dynamite’ is the betting favourite to retain his belt, five months after making a first defence with an emphatic fifth round stoppage of Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium, but insists he is embracing an underdog mentality ahead of his battle with the New Zealander.

“I feel like the underdog all the time,” he said during a face off with Parker on DAZN.

“I never lose that mentality.

“I like being the underdog.

“I like being the dark horse.

“I’m ready to spring a surprise and put him to sleep.

“All the guys that they’re going to put in front of me, it’s my time.”

Parker fights in his first heavyweight world title fight since losing his WBO crown to Anthony Joshua in 2018 and will look to secure an undisputed clash with Usyk himself with victory.
