Jose Larduet The Cuban Sensation Fights In Hamburg

Jose Larduet the Cuban sensation fights in Hamburg looking to end the year on a high on the undercard to the comeback of Felix Sturm.

Jose Larduet is back in action this Saturday night.

Cuban amateur heavyweight standout, Jose Larduet (4-0) will continue his assault on the heavyweight division courtesy of Universum-Box Promotions.

The amateur world champion faced off against Argentine, Marcos Antonio Aumada (21-9) over ten rounds at the Universum Gym in Hamburg on December 19th.

Larduet won a Gold Medal at the World Amateur Youth Championships in 2008, a year later he picked up the Bronze Medal at the World Amateur Championships both in the light heavyweight division.

Jose went on to compete at the 2012 Olympic Games representing his homeland Cuba, reaching the quarter-finals.

Larduet was a part of the Cuban national side in the World Series of Boxing for over five years and also won Gold in the Central American and Caribbean Games.

After defecting from Cuba to base himself in Hamburg, Germany, Larduet has started his professional boxing career as he means to continue.

Wins over Ferenc Urban and Josh Sandland in 2020 has made this year rather prosperous for the 30-year-old. A win over Aumada would round off the year nicely indeed.

Under the watchful eye of his trainer and former world champion, Juan Carlos Gomez and Flavio Oleaga Mirabal of Universum Promotions, he and his team are looking to go straight to the top.

“We believe Jose [Larduet] can go all the way! He can be a future world champion.” Said manager Flavio Oleaga Mirabal

The heavyweight duel plays chief support for the former multiple world champion Felix Sturm in his comeback against the undefeated Timo Rost (10-0).

Heavyweight Lenroy Thomas (23-5-1) will also join the festivities against the Brazilian, Fernando Rodrigo Simoes de Almeida (9-3) at the Universum Gym on December 19th with Bosnian Cruiserweight Elvir Sendro (6-0) adding even more international talent to a stacked card from the German promotion.

Local talent such as; Bujar Tahiri (6-0), Taycan Yildrim (9-0), Ajdin Reiz (3-0) and Muhammet Barut (4-1) round off a potentially thrilling night’s entertainment from the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
