Josh Warrington weighed in just heavier than Mauricio Lara, as both fighters were inside the Featherweight limit ahead of their clash at the SSE Arena tomorrow night.
Warrington makes his return behind closed doors after a frustrating 16 months knowing victory over the Lara is likely to set up fights with WBC champion, Gary Russell Jr, WBO titlist, Emanuel Navarette and WBA ‘Regular’ holder, Xu Can, who talks broke down with prior to the announcement of Lara.
The unbeaten 30-year-old relinquished his IBF Featherweight title, following three defences with Kid Galahad and Jazza Dickens set to contest his former belt.
On the undercard, Zelfa Barrett faces former world champion, Kiko Martinez, whilst Leigh Wood and Reece Mould meet for the vacant British Featherweight title.
Promising young talents, Dalton Smith, Hopey Price and Ricky Hatton’s charge Ibrahim Nadim all feature, as Boxing returns in the UK after a January hiatus, as a result of rising Covid-19 cases.
