Anthony Joshua has backed Joseph Parker to dethrone Daniel Dubois when they meet on February 22.

Joshua says he will be ringside in Riyadh to watch his two former opponents, Dubois and Parker battle it out for Dubois’ IBF heavyweight world title.

‘Dynamite’ destroyed ‘AJ’ in five rounds at Wembley Stadium in September to retain his belt and victory for the Londoner could lead to a rematch for the undisputed crown against unified WBA ‘super’, WBO and WBC titlist, Oleksandr Usyk.

The Watford man was speaking with Turki Alalashikh on Sunday and the Saudi Arabia boxing chief released their respective predictions for the bout on social media afterwards.

Alalshikh backed Dubois to overcome the New Zealander, while Joshua who beat Parker on points in 2018 picked the 33-year-old to upset the odds and become heavyweight world champion for the second time.

The pair are set to come face-to-face at a press conference in London on Monday evening.

Joshua, who was in attendance at the Ring Awards in London on Saturday, has set his sights on a long-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury, who is coming off back-to-back defeats to Usyk, most recently in their rematch in December.

“It’s a fight that I want to see, because I’m a fan of boxing,” the 35-year-old said.

“When I’m in the local gym everyone’s asking me.

“I ain’t got many years ahead of me.

“What I want to do is leave the game with a bang and make an impact.

“Be outlandish, [a] great character, have fun with it while we’re doing it and go for the big fights.

“Tyson Fury is one of them.

“As a fighter it’s up to me to deliver and that’s why I’m saying it has to happen this year.”
