Anthony Joshua says he is focused on finally securing a blockbuster showdown with Tyson Fury this year.
Joshua and Fury have been linked with an all-British battle for years, but so far a meeting has eluded them.
However, ‘AJ’ is adamant they’ll deliver their long-awaited meeting in 2025 and admits he is also looking to win the world heavyweight championship again, having seen his bid to reclaim the IBF title dashed by Daniel Dubois in a fifth round stoppage loss at Wembley in September.
“Three-time world champion and Tyson Fury,” Joshua told NTA Network on his goals for this year.
“We’re not sure [when it will happen], but that’s my target.
“2025, I’m targeting Tyson Fury.”
Fury himself is coming off a second straight defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh last month, but has reportedly told close friends that his career is not yet over.
Joshua opted against an immediate rematch with Dubois, needing more time to recover from injuries sustained in the bout, according to his promoter, Eddie Hearn, who said last week his charge would return in May or June.
And the Watford man, who is currently on holiday in Nigeria, insists defeat has made him more motivated to achieve his goals.
“It makes me more hungry,” the 35-year-old said.
“It makes me want to work harder, because time is off the essence, time is limited, so I just want to put in more work.
“2024, when I look back I believe I could have done more and now I have another chance in 2025 to do more.
“I’m going to make sure I take every opportunity that comes my way.

“I should have won but I didn’t and I’m going to go again.
“My life is up and down so I’ve got to get used to the turbulent times and keep riding the wave.
“I can’t stop now. I have to keep going until I reach my destination.”
