Joe Joyce is targeting a showdown with British rival Dillian Whyte.
A fight between veterans Whyte and Joyce has been touted after the pair both returned to action with wins last month.
Whyte, who saw a scheduled rematch with Anthony Joshua scrapped last August following a positive drugs test, which he was later cleared for, forced Christian Hammer to retire after three rounds in Ireland, the day after the ‘Juggernaut’ bounced back from back-to-back defeats to Zhilei Zhang with a 10th and final round knockout of Kash Ali.
Joyce feels a clash with ‘The Body Snatcher’ would prove to be a fan-friendly contest and is also open to future fights in Saudi Arabia.
“I’d love the chance to fight in Saudi Arabia if and when it is presented to me,” the 38-year-old told Betway.
“As it seems to be the place to fight at the moment.
“It’s where it seems to be happening now and I want to get in that heavyweight mix so it would be a great opportunity.
“I would also like to fight Dillian Whyte.
“That would be a massive fight too, and it’s a fight people want to see.
“Styles make fights and I think our styles would gel well and it would be an entertaining fight for the fans.”
Former world title challenger, Derek Chisora claimed last week that Joyce’s promoter, Frank Warren had reached out to him over a potential showdown with the Putney man.
However, the 40-year-old insists the date offered to him doesn’t suit his plans.
“Frank Warren has reached out to me for Joe Joyce,” he told IFLTV.
“It interests me, but I don’t want it when they want it.
“They want it at the end of the year.
“I’ve also got Baby Miller. People offer fights, but do they really wanna fight?
“They make phone calls and sound you out then don’t phone again.”
