Juergen Braehmer (44-2, 32 KOs) aims to see out the year in style with a third defense of his light heavyweight title on December 6 at the EWE Arena in Oldenburg, Germany.
Braehmer returns against a yet unnamed opponent following his unanimous decision points victory Roberto Bolonti in June. ‘’I’ve kept in great shape since my last fight,’’ said the 36 year-old. ‘’I’m looking forward to getting back into the ring and defending my title for a third time.
‘’It is not just about the victory for me. I want to prove that I am the best fighter in my weight category. I will put on a great show for the fans in Oldenburg and show everyone that I am the man to beat at 175lbs.’’
Having recently signed a contract extension with Team Sauerland, the two-time world champion will continue his successful collaboration with the European powerhouse promoter.
Said promoter Kalle Sauerland: ‘’We are very happy to continue our work with Juergen. He became a world champion again in late 2013 and now we want to feature him in career-defining fights so that he can cement his legacy as one of Germany’s great champions.’’
Preparations for the December 6 clash are already underway with sparring scheduled to begin later this month. Training under the guidance of coach Karsten Roewer, Braehmer reveals he has no problems keeping up with Team Sauerland young guns Enrico Koelling, Tyron Zeuge, Erik Skoglund and Stefan Haertel, with whom he shares a gym.
‘’I do a lot of work on my cardio so I have no problem keeping up with the young guys.’’ said Braehmer. ‘’I’m in as good a shape now as I’ve ever been. On December 6, I will be in top physical condition.’’
