Khan vs. Malignaggi Results & Ortiz vs. Campbell Results Shift the Junior Welterweight Division Rankings
This was an action-packed weekend of boxing, centered around the extremely deep and talented junior welterweight, 140 lbs, division. Amir Khan took on Paulie Malignaggi as the headline bout on HBO, and the card also saw Victor Ortiz vs. Nate Campbell. After both of these bouts and other recent action, ProBoxing-Fans.com has updated our junior welterweight division rankings. Take a look!
Updated junior welterweight division rankings
How far does Amir Khan climb up the rankings after his sheer dominance over Paulie Malignaggi? He used his great size advantage, as well as really solid technical form, quick hands and thunderous shots to pound Maligaggi all over the ring. He’ll be a tough test for anybody, and even with questions still lingering over his chin, could soon rise to be the number 1 man in the division.
Meanwhile Victor Ortiz is on the comeback trail after his own loss against a big puncher. The question with Ortiz isn’t his chin but rather his mettle and whether he has what it takes to want to be the best. With his workmanlike, shutout performance over Nate Campbell, he helped to alleviate some of those concerns.
Lightweight rankings also updated!
A big match at lightweight also took place this weekend between Kevin Mitchell and Michael Katsidis. What was supposed to be a coming out party for Mitchell was instead a devatasting KO loss thanks to the power and aggression of Katsidis. Katsidis works his way back to the top of the division as a result, take a peek.
Be sure to take a look at how all of this weekend’s action affected the rankings at 140 lbs and 135 lbs. Both lightweight and junior welterweight are jammed with talented fighters, and the news and results from this weekend have added even more excitement and drama to the scene.
