Keandre Leatherwood stays busy, fights again this weekend in North Carolina

Light middleweight prospect, Keandre Leatherwood (11-1-1, 8 KOs) will be fighting Marcus Primera (20-26-2, 13 KOs) at Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on December 8th.  The 6-round bout is contracted at a maximum weight of 159 pounds.

In his last fight, Leatherwood recorded his 8th knockout when he floored Marcus Brooks (7-11, 3 KOs) by way of third round KO. Keandre wants to end the year with a bang and promises to give the fans a great performance when he steps in the ring this Saturday.

“I want to close out this year with a tremendous performance,” said Leatherwood. “I’ve come a long way since I rededicated myself to boxing.  All I want to do is keep improving and get the experience I’ll need to compete at the next level.  Boxing 360 has been a tremendous blessing to my career and I’m going to give Yagobi everything I got when I step in the ring.”

The goal of any up and coming fighter is to keep climbing up the rankings.  In 2013, Boxing 360 will keep Leatherwood busy as he marches toward a regional title.

“Keandre is coming along very nicely and I’m happy with his progress,” stated Boxing 360 promoter Mario Yagobi. “The game plan is to finish the year strong with a good performance against Primera and then move to bigger fights in 2013.  I can see Leatherwood fighting five or six times next year with the possibility of being ranked in the top ten.”
