Kessler Starts Camp for Stage 3 Match Against Green

Kessler starts camp for decisive Super Six showdown with Green

WBC Super-Middleweight Champion Mikkel Kessler has started his training camp for the crucial Super Six showdown with Allan Green. The Viking Warrior will take on his American opponent in Denmark on September 25 at a venue to be announced. This week, star coach Jimmy Montoya returned from his home base in Los Angeles to Copenhagen to prepare Denmark´s national hero for the Super Six showdown. They will move camp to Team Sauerland´s headquarters in Berlin shortly. “The fun part is over for Mikkel,” Montoya said. “He got his well-deserved rest after the fight against Froch but it will be blood, sweat and tears for him from now on. I was pleased with his performance against Froch but there is still a lot more to come from him. I expect him to get even better against Green.”

In one of the most dramatic fights in recent years, Kessler clinched a unanimous points victory over Carl “The Cobra” Froch to clinch his first victory in the Super Six World Boxing Classic. “It was a great fight and I was very happy to become world champion again,” Kessler said. “I had a good rest and a great vacation but now I am back in the gym to prepare for Allan Green. There is a lot at stake – not just my world title but also the qualification for the semi-finals. I need a victory on September 25 and together with Jimmy and my team I will defeat Green!”

The decisive clash between Kessler and Green will again be televised live by Viasat. PPV (Showtime in the United States) and ticket information will be available shortly.
