The “Viking Warrior” Mikkel Kessler proved against Brian Magee that he is simply unbeatable at home. The Danish superstar proved it again in the night from Saturday to Sunday in Herning. In front of 10,127 spectators, he defeated Magee at the Jyske Bank BOXING Arena by technical knockout in the third round. As a result, Kessler secured a title for the fourth time.

Magee tried to be the first to do damage in the slugfest. But Kessler made skillful advances and countered to the body of Northern Irishman. In round two, it was then not only counter-blows of the 33-year-old local hero, who landed on the belly of his four years older counterpart.

Kessler then placed some excellent body shots to Magee’s stomach which sent his man down. Although the man from Belfast came to his feet, Kessler knew now how he could bring the battle to a swift end. A few moments before the break, Magee received repeated direct hits to the body and knelt in the neutral corner. The third man in the ring was upon him again, but he continued fighting.

The end came just a short time later. No sooner had the third round started, Kessler landed again a smashing right to the body and Magee found himself once again on the ring. But now referee Luis Pabon had seen enough and stopped the fight, at a time of 24 seconds in round 3.

Brian Magee had left after the verdict but praise for the big winner of the evening: “Kessler is a super fighter and he has now clearly demonstrated to me I could not recover from the first precipitation again Mikkel has noticed that and it.. then merciless exploited – so he is now the new world champion,” said the veteran ring, which in his 42nd Fight had left the rope em for the fifth time as a loser.

Crowd favorite Mikkel Kessler praised his opponent and his fans. “The audience today has me almost screamed to victory. I have implemented the tactics of my coaches perfectly and I am very proud to hold back a world title held,” he said after his 46th Victory in the 48th Professional fight of his career.

Finally, there was a challenge to all those who work out a win against him, “It does not matter who I’m boxing’s next – I can beat anyone in the super middleweight division!”
