Amir Khan has changed his mind over the outcome of Chris Eubank Jr’s clash with Conor Benn.
Eubank Jr faces Benn in an eagerly-anticipated middleweight grudge match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 26.
Khan, who was once linked with a fight with Benn, admits he was picking ‘The Destroyer’ to win, but has since altered his prediction and is now favouring the naturally bigger man in Eubank Jr.
Speaking with Carl Froch on his podcast Froch On Fighting, the Bolton man said: “I was saying Conor was going to win a couple of weeks ago.
“I thought that he was more of the aggressor.

“But then looking at the size difference and realising he’s going up a weight.
“Not up one but maybe two weights.
“These weights are made for a purpose and even though I went up and fought Canelo, I know the difference.
“But then again, Chris Eubank is no Canelo.
“But I still feel that Eubank has a lot more weight, more power, more strength and the height and the size over Conor Benn.
“I’ve got him winning that fight now.”

Both men cannot weigh in any more than 170lbs at a second day weigh in on the morning of the fight, or will otherwise risk a fine of $500,000 per pound, according to boxing insider Dan Rafael.
The rehydration clause appears to favour Benn, who has campaigned his whole career at 147lbs, apart from his last two bouts which took place at 154lbs.
However, Khan is not convinced that Eubank Jr will abide by the weight regulations and may concede a financial penalty.
“One thing I know about Chris Eubank, he’s not really bothered about stuff like that,” the 38-year-old added.

“He does what he wants.
“If he says, ‘I’m going to come in 15 pounds over, I’ll pay the five pounds off.’
“He just wants that name on his resume that he’s beaten Conor Benn.

“The win is more important to him than the money, even though the fight might be making them a lot of money.
“He’s probably thinking, ‘I’m getting paid a lot of money to beat this guy up. I’m just going to go in there, give him a beating.’
“‘Why should I dehydrate myself?’”
The Brighton man has already been fined £100,000 by the British Boxing Board of Control for slapping his rival with an egg following a press conference in Manchester last month.
The pair were supposed to have fought in a catchweight clash of 157lbs in October 2022, but the bout was cancelled on fight week after Benn twice tested positive for the banned substance Clomiphene.
The 28-year-old was cleared by the National Anti-Doping Panel last November and is expected to reapply for his British licence, which he relinquished in the aftermath of his failed tests.
