The slap heard around the world!
The Vitali Klitschko vs. Dereck Chisora weigh-in was held on Friday afternoon. There are two stories of note about the Klitschko-Chisora weigh-ins. First is that Chisora basically weighs the same as the WBC heavyweight champion, and he’s going to be a tough guy to move around in the ring. Second, things took an ugly turn after weeks of friendly banter and fight build-up, as Chisora tried to smack Vitali in the face during the proceedings. That should make the fight a bit more heated, that’s for sure. Check out the weights and photos from the event right here.
Klitschko-Chisora Weights
- Vitali Klitschko: 243.6 lbs (110,5 kg)
- Dereck Chisora: 241.2 lbs (109,4 kg)

As mentioned, it’s surprising that Dereck Chisora would try to pull off such a stunt, as the two guys have been pretty chummy throughout the entire affair, taking things more lighthearted than not, and jesting with one another from a mutual respect of sorts. However, I guess Del Boy decided he wanted to rile up Klitschko to try to get him off of his game for Saturday night.
Whether or not it works is anybody’s guess, but more likely, he just added more anger and fury to Vitali, and it’s something that he’ll pay for in kind in the ring. When Klitschko answers back, it won’t be slaps though. It will be his concussive fury that has helped him register 40 knockouts in 43 professional wins to this point in this career.
Be sure to check back in with us on Saturday for full Klitschko vs. Chisora results and coverage. We’ll see whether that slap from Chisora pays off or backfires one way or another.
