So much for the biggest and best heavyweight fight in a decade, eh? The Klitschko vs. Haye fight failed to deliver in terms of action and excitement, but for Klitschko, it was another easy win against a supposedly tough challenger. Now the Klitschko brothers hold all four belts. So how does the top 10 in the heavyweight division rankings look?
—> Updated heavyweight division rankings
It has been over a year since we updated our heavyweight division rankings. That’s because so little of real note has been happening in the division. We were waiting for the Klitschko vs. Haye results and hoping that would shake things up a bit, regardless of the outcome… but no such luck.
But we’ve made some much needed updates to the top 10. No surprises with number 1 and number 2, Klitschko the Younger and Klitschko the Elder, and then the rest of the top in the division looks pretty familiar. The guys that the Klitschkos have already beaten have begun putting together their own winning streaks again, guys like Tony Thompson, Ruslan Chagaev, Eddie Chambers and on down the line.
One new name is out there, and that’s Robert Helenius. Meanwhile, Tomasz Adamek has soared up the ranks thanks not only to his own wins, but to the complete drop off from everyone else who has tried to challenge one of the brothers.
