Vitali Klitschko vs. Kevin Johnson Heavyweight Title Fight Results
Another one of the great fights from this boxing filled weekend is Vitali Klitschko vs. Kevin Johnson. The fight will be shown on tape-delay format as a part of the Diaz vs. Malignaggi HBO card this evening. However, beforehand you can check back in with ProBoxing-Fans.com for full Klitschko vs. Johnson results. Was Vitali able to defend his title yet again in dominating fashion? Or was The Kingpin the first challenger to give Klitschko a run for his money… and maybe even take home the belt to the states? Full Klitschko vs. Johnson results below… SPOILER ALERT!
In a fight that will be broadcast via tape delay later his evening, Vitali Klitscho defended his heavyweight champion against Kevin Johnson by winning a lopsided unanimous decision. Scores were 119-109 and 120-108 twice, signaling that Johnson was never in the fight at all.
It is one of the rare decision victories in Klitschko’s career however. It’s just the second time he has won by decision, or seen the final bell of a fight. One would have thought that the fight lasting until the end of the 12th signaled an upset victory for the Kingpin, but it was not to be.
Johnson was able to evade many of the thudding power shots of Klitschko, however he never mounted much of his own attack. Instead he used his jab and relied on his defense. It was enough to make it to the final bell, but not enough to win so much as a round on 2 of the judges’ scorecards.
More analysis with the Klitschko victory over Johnson later on this evening, and for the rest of the weekend, so keep checking back in. Who is finally going to step up to the plate and be able to topple one of the Klitschko brothers?
