As you can see from the photos and from the weights, these two are very similar in size. Klitschko will not have the usual height or weight advantage that he typically enjoys, as Thompson matches up with him quite well in those departments. Of course, that factor didn’t help “The Tiger” out too much four years ago, when Klitschko handled him without too much of a worry. Thompson says he’s a different and much better fighter now than he was then, but certainly Wlad feels the same way about himself.
The fight will be televised in the United States live on EPIX, for a nice mid-Saturday afternoon respite from the surging heat across the country. Klitschko’s IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles will all be up for grabs for the winner.
