Saturday evening at the O2 was set to feature a South London Derby, but unfortunately Dan Azeez was ruled out with a back injury in his final training session ahead of fight night, and his bout with Joshua Buatsi had to be shelved. The card still goes ahead though, and is moved to York Hal where Mikael Lawal puts his British cruiserweight title on the line in a long-awaited defence against rival Isaac Chamberlain.
Ben Shalom’s BOXXER promoter Chamberlain vs Lawal and Sky Sports televise the card live in the UK, whilst Peacock hold the US rights.
Lawal (17-0, 11 KOs), who makes a first defence of his British title, pulled out of their proposed meeting in May due to a dental issue.
The 28-year-old Londoner won the vacant title in November last year, forcing David Jamieson to retire after eight rounds.
Chamberlain (15-2, 8 KOs) has only lost in good company, to Lawrence Okolie in a stinker in 2018, and a bruising points defeat to now-WBO champion Chris Billam-Smith last July in Bournemouth.
Prediction: I favour the slightly fresher Lawal to prevail on the cards.
Greene faces Gilley
In what could be a real firefight, Louis Greene defends his Commonwealth super welterweight title for a second time against Sam Gilley.
Greene (16-3, 10 KOs) last defended in May, halting Paul Kean in six rounds, while Gilley (16-1, 8 KOs) has previously been an English champion, and is coming off a sixth round stoppage of Ellis Corrie in June.

Prediction: I think Gilley can win a war in around six rounds.
Remaining Undercard
2020 Olympic Bronze medalist, Karriss Artingstall (4-0) also appears here, and she should outscore Canada’s Vanessa Bradford (7-4-2) over eight at featherweight.
Michael Hennessy Jr can also take a points win over eight against the unpredictable Joe Laws at super welterweight.
Laws (13-2, 5 KOs) replaces Harley Benn who was supposed to take on Hennessy Jr (11-1-1, 2 KOs).
