Matchroom host a NXTGEN show for the first time this Friday night an IndigO2 in Greenwich, and in the main event, George Liddard takes on Derrick Osaze in a ten rounder at middleweight.

DAZN televise Liddard vs Osaze live.

Liddard (10-0, 6 KOs) is taking his biggest step up to date in this one, and hasn’t been past six rounds as a professional, completing that distance four times.

After three wins in the first half of 2024, Liddard moved up to eight round level, and halted George Davey in five rounds.

The Billericay native was last out in December, in a first scheduled ten rounder, but he needed only 92 seconds to floor Omar Ilunga three times en route to a devastating win.

Now comes the test of Osaze (13-2, 3 KOs), a man who has largely disappointed since winning an Ultimate Boxxer tournament in 2019. After losing on points to Tyler Denny in 2021, Osaze won three fights in a row to earn a crack at the dangerous Denzel Bentley last August.

Bentley proved too heavy-handed though, wiping Osaze out in two rounds with an uppercut.

Prediction: Liddard has steadily improved with each contest, and this will be a decent test for him. Osaze was caught cold by Denzel Bentley, and I think he will hear the final bell, but Liddard should run out the winner on points.

Bostan and Fawaz battle for English honours

The chief support sees another hot prospect in action, with Junaid Bostan (10-0, 8 KOs) going for his first professional title, as he vies for the vacant English super welterweight title against Bilal Fawaz (9-1, 3 KOs).

Former Team GB member Bostan fought twice in 2024, winning his first scheduled ten rounder with an eighth-round stoppage of Jack Martin in April, before winning in three rounds in October against Maico Sommariva.

Fawaz has won five straight since an early career loss, and is a former Southern Area champion. He was last out in October last year, widely outscoring Ryan Amos over ten rounds.

Prediction: Bostan will want to make moves in 2025, and can start here by taking the belt via stoppage in the middle rounds.

Undercard Preview

There are three eight round offerings on the card. Jimmy Sains (8-0, 8 KOs) moves up to eight round level for the first time, and he should extend his perfect record with a stoppage win against Pierre Rosadini (6-6-3, 0 KOs) at middleweight.

Giorgio Visioli (5-0, 4 KOs) can improve his early win ratio by taking a stoppage win against Columbia’s Brian Barajas (7-1-1, 3 KOs).

Maisey-Rose Courtney (7-1, 0 KOs) continues her rebuild after her first career defeat, and she should have too much for Jasmina Nad (11-33-5, 4 KOs) to record a handy points win in their flyweight bout.

In six rounders, middleweight hope Emmanuel Buttigieg (6-0, 1 KOs) can win on the cards against James Todd (4-4-2, 0 KOs), and at super middleweight, Taylor Bevan (1-0, 1 KOs) can win early against Poland’s Szymon Kajda (1-0-1, 1 KO).
