We caught up with Louie Lynn at yesterdays Frank Warren media workout. Lynn by his own admission went on to tell us that whilst on paper Amin Jahanzeb presents himself as his toughest opponent to date, he wasn’t impressed by British featherweight from Bradford having watched his last fight.

‘I think he’s a decent fighter, he’s got fast hands and bit flash … I don’t really study fighters anyway but I did watch his last fight and can’t say I was overly impressed to be honest. The better he is, the better my opponent is – the better I fight!’

Lynn went on to tell us about his dedication to the sport of boxing. ‘It means everything to me … all fighters say that but I don’t really have a social life or anything like that – I want to be a great in the sport and be a great world champion… this is what I love – I’m living the dream.’ It all started for Lynn at a young age when his mum took him to a local gym in Hounslow and it all started from there.

We wrapped the interview up talking about Anthony Joshua vs Usyk and Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder. ‘I think Tyson comes through again’ Lynn went onto say. ‘The last one was one-sided’. Asked at the end what he thinks happens if Tyson Fury goes on to face Anthony Joshua – Lynn was quite certain that ‘Tyson Fury win that one – he is the gypsy king!’.

Lynn also went on to ‘shout out’ Caleb Plant during the interview when we touched on the Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant fight. Plant reached out to Lynn circa 4 years ago when Lynn was working as a scaffolder. ‘Boxing King Media shared a video and he commented on it – which was nice.’

You can catch Louie Lynn in action against Amin Jahanzeb on BT Sport on Friday 10th September from 7PM.
