Frank Warren showcased his young talent in a prospects show at the Copper Box Arena, and in the main event, Louie Lynn made in ten wins from ten as a professional, with a technical split decision win against Amin Jahanzeb, defending his WBC International silver featherweight title in the process.

Lynn had won the title in his last outing, a wide points win against Sebastian Perez in March, while Jahanzeb had never previously been past six rounds as a professional.

It what was a clash of styles, with puncher Lynn versus boxer Jahanzeb, the Bradford man controlled the early action picking off the marauding Lynn as he came forward. Lynn responded well though, throwing punches in multiples as he rushed into his opponent. The fifth saw Lynn rocked by a big left hook that forced him backwards, and he was forced to hold as the round came to a close.

Lynn enjoyed solid sixth and seventh rounds though, as he stuck to his boxing and closed the gap on the challenger, but the rounds were tricky to score. Jahanzeb had a big eighth, bloodying Lynn’s mouth as he connected with some eye catching hooks, but the contest was over just a round later, when a clash of heads left Lynn with a horror cut over his right eye. The round was completed, but the fight was stopped, and, with the clash accidental, the scorecards were required to rule a winner.

A nod of 86-85 for Jahanzeb was overruled by the same score for Lynn, and a third at 87-84, as the champion retained.

Portsmouth lightweight Mark Chamberlain moved to 9-0, as he forced Benjamin Lamptey to retire after four rounds. The Ghanaian was down in the second from a short, chopping left hook, and, after a left hook to the body felled the visitor again in the fourth, Lamptey’s corner pulled their man out of the fight.

Karol Itauma improved his record to 4-0, winning all four rounds at light heavyweight against Daryl Sharp, a man only stopped once in 80 fights.

At super featherweight, Frank Arnold impressed, as he halted Lee Glover inside a round, and at featherweight, Essex based Adan Mohamed stopped first-timer, Luke Merryfield, in two rounds.

Callum Thomson decked Dean Jones in the opening round of their super lightweight four rounder, but eventually settled for a 40-35 win. Jonathan Kumuteo also needed the distance to see off the tough Kevin McCauley at super welterweight.

Joshua Frankham dropped Matija Petkovic with a body shot in the first round of their super welterweight affair, and it took him one more frame to force a stoppage. Umar Khan took all four rounds in his super bantamweight contest with Luke Fash, and Khalid Ali won the battle of the debutants at welterweight, stopping Dean Wilkinson in the fourth and final round.
