“Making my pro debut in Puerto Rico is very exciting.” said Paredes. “I want to perform at a high level and show my people what I’m made of. This is what I’ve been working toward my whole life and now it’s time to shine. I’ll be looking to knockout my opponent if I have him hurt. If the fight goes the distance, I’m ok with that as well, as long as I coming out on top. I want to make my promoter Gary Shaw happy.”

18-year old Jean Rivera will square off against another fighter making his pro debut, Kevin Vazquez.

“The time has finally come for me to make the move to the pros and I can’t wait.” Rivera said. “I don’t know much about my opponent, but I know what I have to do once I step in the ring. I’m going to dictate the action from the opening bell. I’m coming to fight my fight. I’m not going to let this guy get into any type of rhythm. I want to thank Gary Shaw for turning me pro.”

“Paredes and Rivera have all the talent in the world to be something special in this sport.” Gary Shaw said. “I’m very excited to see how they develop. If they stay focused and keep working hard sky is the limit for both of them. GSP is thrilled to have them part of our stable.”
