Just announced is the Triple Thunder card, which will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on August 31, and is promoted by South Africa-based Golden Gloves Promotions, an action-packed event feature three marquee fights.
In the main event, highly-touted and hard-punching Ilunga Makabu (14-1, 13 KO) defends his WBC silver cruiserweight belt against dangerous two-time USA Golden Gloves heavyweight champion Eric Fields (22-1, 16 KO). Having only lost in his debut match, Makabu has been proving his case as a major contender at cruiserweight, soundly defeating his last three opponents who had a combined record of 41-0-1 before facing him.
A battle for the vacant WBC international silver light heavyweight title will see popular Ryno Liebenberg (12-0, 8 KO) return to Emperor’s Palace for the seventh time to take on Gabriel Arturo Ramirez (13-4-1, 7 KO).
Also featured will be former IBF minimumweight champion Nkosinathi Joyi (23-2, 16 KO) who makes his debut at junior flyweight against Benezer Alolod (12-4-4, 2 KO) who defends his WBC international junior flyweight championship.
