Broner vs. Malignaggi Weigh-in Results –
Two of the loudest mouths in boxing square off on Saturday night, when Adrien “The Problem” Broner jumps up to weight divisions to take on titleholder Paulie “Magic Man” Malignaggi. But their mouths won’t be doing the talking in the ring, of course.
This afternoon, the Malignaggi vs. Broner weigh-ins were held, and right here, you’ll find the official weigh-in results and analysis. Take a look.
Malignaggi vs. Broner
- Paulie Malignaggi: 146.4
- Adrien Broner: 146.8
Analysis – Both men comfortably made weight for this weekend’s welterweight title tilt in Brooklyn. The talk is over and boy was there a lot of it! After doing their best job to hype the event, Malignaggi and Broner will step into the ring to settle matters Saturday night, with Malignaggi’s WBA Welterweight title up for grabs. Despite Broner having not fought this caliber of opponent and jumping two weight classes to 147 pounds, he is listed as high as a 15-1 favorite at some books. Malignaggi is at home in Brooklyn, but the overall vibe is that this is Broner’s showcase. It is believed by most experts that Broner’s youth, speed, and punching power will win the day over the quick, but feather-fisted Malignaggi. For such a large underdog, Malignaggi has some hope, fighting at home against a guy who until recently, was a 130-pounder. In addition, Broner has only been 10 rounds once, while Malignaggi has been the distance many times. Can Malignaggi spring the big upset or is this another step on Broner’s climb up the boxing ladder? Tune in tomorrow for the round-by-round report to find out.
Banks vs. Mitchell
- Johnathon Banks: 216.6
- Seth Mitchell: 243.8
- Sakio Bika: 167.2
- Marco Antonio Periban: 167.2
